In Rurouni Kenshin, Okita apears to have, as you said; the triangle pattern all around.
While in PeaceMaker Kurogane, he seems to be lacking that pattern all the way around.
Now, I figured I ought to reference him from the actual character design I was basing him off of,
and not the Rurouni Kenshin style.
In actuality, the shinsengumi did have the pattern all the way around the base of the gi,
but like I said, I referenced it from the actual design found here: [link]
